    Practice with these "Flash Cards" or better yet - make your own "Kartei-Karten" with German on one side and English  on the other!

Carry five or six around and look at them from time to time and keep reviewing them all day!

I'm cold!.   (It seems cold to me!) I'm hot!   (It seems cold to me!) I'm hungry. I'm thirsty. I'm dry. I'm wet.

5. Szene - Ich bin durstig!
 

Ich bin durstig.       Hier ist Tee! Der ist heiß! Ich bin hungrig.      Hier ist ein Hamburger! Mir ist heiß.      Hier ist eine Dusche! Ich bin naß.      Hier ist ein Handtuch! Mir ist kalt.      Hier ist ein Pullover! Ich bin müde.      Leg dich hin!

Ich bin durstig.      Here's tea! It's hot! I'm hungry.      Here's a hamburger! It seems warm to me.      Here's a shower! I'm wet.      Here is a handtowel! It seems cold to me.      Here is a Pullover (sweater). I'm tired.      Lay yourself down!

6. Szene: Wo bist du?
 

Wo bist du? hier Wo? Ich kann dich nicht sehen! Ich bin hier. Auf dem Baum. Welcher Baum? Dieser Baum!

Where are you? here Where? I can't see you! I'm here. On top of the tree. Which tree? This tree!

7. Szene - Unter der Kiste
 

Wo bist du? unter in vor auf hinter zwischen unter der Kiste in der Kiste vor der Kiste auf der Kiste hinter der Kiste zwischen den Kisten Wo ist die Kiste? da hinten Wo ist die Kiste jetzt? hier hinten

8. Szene - OK?
 

Alles in Ordnung? Ja, schon gut. Wo ist das Schloß? Es ist da hinten.

9. Szene - Kannst du mich hören?
 

Kannst du mich hören? Kannst du mich sehen? Kannst du sprechen? Kannst du gehen? Kannst du laufen? Das kann ich! Das kann ich nicht. Noch einmal! Jetzt kann ich laufen!  Komm zurück! Was ist los? Was ist denn  los?

Can you hear me? Can you see me? Can you speak? Can you walk? Can you run? I can do that! I can't do that. One more time! Now I can run! Come back! What's going on? What the heck is going on?!

 

10. Szene: Das Lied des Könnens      "The ‘I can' Song"
 

Ich kann gehen. Ich kann sprechen. Ich kann hören. Ich kann sehen. Wer bist du? Bin ich du? Bist du ich? Ich kann springen. Ich kann schwimmen. Ich kann laufen. Ich kann tanzen. Das macht Spaß. Ich bin du. Du bist ich.
